JAKARTA - After working in the Indonesian music industry for a long time, finally Kunto Aji released a religious song for the first time. The singer from Yogyakarta released a song called Life Before Death, which is also the soundtrack for the Demi Masa series.

In writing his song this time, Kunto was inspired by fragments of the verses of the Koran and a lesson that read "Take advantage of five cases before five cases".

"I ventured. Tried two weeks (writing the song), even though it was ineffective. Because I had time to go to Medan and Sabang, meaning while performing, I even wrote on the train, on the boat, I couldn't even (the idea)," said Kunto Aji about the search for song ideas, in Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta, Thursday, March 14.

"But thank God it can be resolved," he added.

However, digging up the idea of a song from the Koran is nothing new for Kunto. He has applied it several times in other songs, although not for religious songs.

The singer and songwriter has a habit of digging up ideas and inspirations from the Koran, then rewritten with different sentences that are felt to be more common, but the messages published are still as breathing as they are.

"So, this doesn't feel too far either, it's close enough. Even the last album, Introductor Purification Thinks, that's the big theme of iku urup, in Javanese 'life is on'. Well, it's almost the same as Al Ashr's surah," said Kunto Aji.

"That's why it's also easier for me (to write religious songs). Because this is what I'm experiencing and I'm writing. So it's not too difficult, the lyrics are like my lyrics to (the song) usually," he continued.

Through the lyrics of the song written, Kunto Aji wants the listeners to be able to take advantage of their life time so that they become more a blessing and do good to each other.

"What is life and support? One of them is from Al-Ashr's letter, that we are very losing money if we don't benefit people," concluded Kunto Aji.
