Rendy Pandugo Challenges Himself By Making An Indonesian Song

JAKARTA - Rendy Pandugo started his solo career by releasing the song I Don't Care in 2016. During his seven years of career in Indonesian music, the 38-year-old singer was always present with his English song.

However, recently Rendy Pandugo released a song called Senandung Lara which incidentally speaks Indonesian. He felt challenged to make songs using his own Indonesian language.

"Actually, I've made several more Indonesians in the previous project, I only wrote myself as a soloist and I released it for the first time. Why? I feel challenged to make something, "said Rendy Pandugo in Cipayung, East Jakarta on Friday, August 4.

Rendy Pandugo felt that he had not released his own song for a long time, so he wanted to come back with something new.

"Because I haven't released anything for a year. I think I have to make a comeback with something new. Yes, I have to find something fresh, and try writing Indonesian," said Rendy Pandugo.

However, Rendy denied that he had been called discriminating in Indonesian. He admitted that it was difficult when he had to compose songs in Indonesian.

"It turns out that it's quite difficult (to make an Indonesian song). It doesn't mean I discriminate against Indonesian, no, Indonesian is it's a good thing," said Rendy Pandugo.

"Alhamdulillah, yesterday I was assisted by Petra Sihombing too, so in the middle of the road he helped, finally I could have written it more smoothly," he added.

Speaking further about his new single, Rendy Pandugo said that Sendung Lara had a very personal story with him.

"The sound of Lara is actually really personal for me. Because in the past year, what I felt was not an easy thing, many things changed," said Rendy Pandugo.
