Hyundai Creta Facelift. (Doc. India Today)

JAKARTA - Earlier this year, Hyundai officially launched a facelift version of Creta, one of its best-selling products in the emerging country market. The car is experiencing a refresher, including a new exterior design and the addition of several features.

This compact SUV comes in seven different trims, including E, EX, S, S(O), SX, SX Tech, and SX(O), each with its own advantages. However, Hyundai plans to expand this lineup of models with two new variants of Creta by 2025, namely Creta EV and Creta N Line.

Specifically for Creta EV, this car has been seen several times being tested on Indian roads, with a different exterior design from its combustion engine (ICE) version and a similar interior design to Ioniq 5.

Creta EV will be powered by a 45 kWh battery pack from LG Chem, which is connected to electric motors from the latest generation of Kona EVs, generating a power of 138 dk and 255 Nm torque.

The presence of the Creta EV is also Hyundai's response to the fast-growing market movement, with Tarun Garg, India's Chief Operating Officer of Hyundai Motor, expressing the company's intention to increase the volume of electric vehicles in India, responding to market growth of around 20-22 percent in the region.

Not EV, Hyundai will also launch Creta N Line, a high-performance SUV variant. In line with other N Line models, this sporty version of Creta will have changes to the exterior design with distinctive red accents, a combination of glossy black colors, and a touch of aluminum imitation.

Creta N Line will be powered by the latest 1.5 liter turbo engine with a power of 160 dk, paired with dual-clutch seven acceleration transmissions. There is also a possibility of manual transmission options. Hyundai plans to use a more sporting suspension setting, sporty exhaust, and adjusted steering dynamics, along with the characteristics that have been proven in other N Line models.
