Minister Of Energy And Mineral Resources Inaugurates Shinta Damayanti As Deputy Head Of SKK Migas

JAKARTA - Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Arifin Tasrif inaugurated Shinta Damayanti as Deputy Head of the Special Task Force for Upstream Oil and Gas Activities (SKK Migas).

The inauguration took place at the Chairul Saleh Building, the Secretariat General Office of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Jakarta.

Shinta was sworn in to replace Nanang Abdul Manaf who retired this year.

Previously, Shinta Damayanti served as Secretary of SKK Migas.

In his remarks, Arifin said that filling leadership positions in SKK Migas was important because the challenges faced by the upstream oil and gas industry were increasing.

The challenges in 2024 are higher than in previous years.

One of the main things is how to achieve the production and oil and gas lifting targets that have been set by the government.

Arifin explained that in maintaining the national level of oil and gas production, the main concern of SKK Migas is to oversee the National Strategic Project so that it can contribute to oil and gas production optimally and on time.

The setback in project realization could result in a significant failure to achieve the production target and increase in costs.

"SKK Migas must also look for breakthroughs, so that the work program plan in existing oil and gas fields can be realized properly, and encourage more massive exploration activities for the sustainability of upstream oil and gas operations. SKK Migas must also make careful planning so that reserve findings in new oil and gas fields can be produced immediately," added Arifin.

In his directive, Arifin emphasized the importance of adaptation and quick steps for newly appointed officials to achieve the targets set in the upstream oil and gas sector.

Arifin hopes that the Deputy Head of SKK Migas can use their technical and managerial capabilities to maintain positive achievements and face challenges with innovative solutions, so that the results achieved can be more optimal.

Furthermore, Arifin hopes that the Deputy SKK Migas can encourage and accelerate the mindset change program in SKK Migas, so that each individual in it has a character and work ethic based on the values of honesty, hard work, effectiveness, determination, right decisions, national insight, and integrity, in order to support the vision that has been set.

"I ask SKK Migas to continue to improve upstream oil and gas governance which is more effective and efficient in order to achieve the maximum target," concluded Arifin.
