JAKARTA - Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Erick Thohir re-rolled the plan to cut state-owned companies. He said he already had a roadmap or blueprint of 2024 to 2034, where the target was only 30 SOEs left.

Furthermore, Erick said that the red plate company's cuts in the blueprint had been pushed since two years ago.

"This is what we consolidate from 108 to 41 (companies) in 2024. In 2024-2034 we will consolidate again to 30," he said when met at Senayan's Indoor Tennis Field, Jakarta, written Friday, March 8.

Erick said that the assumption that with many state-owned companies does not mean that they contribute well and healthily. On the other hand, he said, it often complied with competition.

"We are talking about not meaning that the large number of SOEs is a good and healthy contribution, and even often kills competition with the private sector, regions and MSMEs," he said.

For your information, since the beginning of his tenure in 2019, Erick Thohir has been aggressively reducing the number of SOEs through the restructuring program he runs.

In 2020, the Ministry of SOEs has reduced the number of its business entities from 142 companies to 107 companies.

Cleaning efforts continue, even until the fifth year of Erick Thohir's leadership. Of the 107 companies, now only 41 remain.
