Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto said that Australia's total foreign investment (FDI) in Indonesia reached US$545.2 billion in 2023.

Coordinating Minister Airlangga explained that strengthening cross-border economic integration plays an important role in growth strategies.

Therefore, Indonesia has started to open accession discussions with Economic and Economic Development Organizations (OECD) and Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CP-TPP).

CP-TPP, accelerated deals with the European Union and was actively involved in the Indo Pacific Economic Framework for Prosperity (IPEF).

"These instruments provide a comprehensive roadmap to increase quality investment and export-driven growth and will open market cooperation and access to large economic blocks," he said.

On the same occasion, Australian Ambassador to Indonesia Penny Williams who attended the meeting said, Indonesia and Australia will continue to be committed to improving bilateral relations in various sectors.

Representing Australia, he will also provide support in accessing Indonesian membership to OECD and CPTPP, and will cooperate with related institutions as a follow-up to the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) of Indonesia-Kamboja Electric Vehicles.

"This year, diplomatic relations between Indonesia and Australia are entering the age of 75, and both countries are committed to increasing bilateral relations in various sectors," said Penny Williams.

During the meeting, Coordinating Minister Airlangga also encouraged stronger collaboration in important sectors, especially in the chain of energy and sustainable agriculture values, electric vehicles and technology manufacturing, education, utilization of maritime resource potential, including the development of the State Capital Megaproject (IKN).
