The South Japek II Toll Road Is Ready To Function Freely During The Eid Holiday

JAKARTA - The government through the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) is ready to open the Jakarta-Cikampek (Japek) II South Segment Sadang-Kutanegara-Taman Mekar toll road for 28.5 kilometers (km) during the Lebaran 2024 holiday. During that period, the route will be opened functionally, aka free.

Quoted from the upload of the official Instagram account of the Directorate General of Highways of the Ministry of PUPR, @pupr_binamarga, Tuesday, March 5, the functionalization of this road will be devoted to small vehicles or Group I Non Buses.

"In other words, this toll segment will # make it easier for your road, road users who use private cars or minibuses in Lebaran homecoming later!," reads the statement in the upload.

Currently, the functionalization of the South Japek II Toll Road in the Sadang-Kutanegara Segment is being prepared for 8.5 km. This is in order to prepare the functionalization of the 2024 Lebaran backflow from Bandung to Jakarta.

The functionalization of the South Japek II Sadang-Kutanegara segment itself has been carried out since the flow of Lebaran homecoming and Christmas for the New Year 2023. The hope is that the opening of this path access can help unravel the flow of congestion during the Eid al-Fitr 2024 holiday.

Meanwhile, to access the Sadang-Kutanegara segment, road users can enter through the Sadang Interchange (SS) at the KM 77 point of the Cipularang Toll Road.

After passing through the 8.5 km functional route, road users pass 15 km of industrial roads to re-enter the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road via the East Karawang Toll Gate.

The functionalization of Sadang-Kutanegara itself will follow the discretion of the police. In this case, if there is a queue of vehicles at the Dawuan Interchange (SS) kilometer 67 of the Cikampek-Purwakarta-Padalarang (Cipularang) Toll Road, based on police instructions, the Sadang-Kutanegara segment will be opened.

For your information, the South Japek II Toll Road has a total length of 64.05 km which plays an important role in connecting areas in West Java.

Later, this toll road will connect Bekasi City, Bogor Regency, Bekasi Regency, Karawang Regency and Purwakarta Regency. The investment value of this project reached around Rp. 14.691 trillion and was divided into three work packages.

Package I Jatiasih-Setu along 7.25 km consists of the Jatiasih-Bantagebang Section and the Bantargebang-Setu Section. The IIA Setu-Sukaragam Section package is 10.5 km.

Then, Package IIB for the Sukaragam-Sukabungah Section is 13 km long. Package III of 31.25 km Sukabung-Sadang which consists of the Sukabungah-Kutanegara Section and Kutanegara-Sedang Section.
