BPH Migas Encourages Local Governments To Accelerate One Price Fuel Program In 2024

JAKARTA - The Downstream Oil and Gas Regulatory Agency (BPH Migas) encourages the Regional Government (Pemda) to accelerate the construction of the 2024 One Price Fuel Distributor.

Member of the BPH Migas Committee Basuki Trikora Putra said this was intended so that people living in disadvantaged, frontier, and outermost (3T) areas could enjoy the same fuel price as other big cities in Indonesia.

The One Price Fuel Program is an extraordinary program. Through this program, our brothers and sisters in the 3T region are encouraged to improve their economy. So the development is not only in Java, Sumatra or other big cities, but rather we are building economic movements from outside or outskirts so that people are prosperous," Basuki said in a statement to the media, Saturday, March 2.

According to him, in the process of developing the One Price Fuel distributor, there are a number of challenges. For this reason, BPH Migas encourages local governments to play an active role in licensing, location, and partners who have the ability to build one-price fuel distributors.

"Within 10 months left, there are still many processes that must be passed to achieve the target," he added.

He further said that the Oil and Gas BPH and the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) wanted to complete this task completely. To overcome the obstacles faced, he also hopes that local government support will be directly related to Pertamina's potential partners or representatives in the Sulawesi and Maluku regions so that this program can be realized according to the predetermined time.

Member of the BPH Committee Migas Saleh Abdurrahman on the same occasion reminded that strict selection needs to be carried out regarding the location and ability of substitute partners so that the same challenge does not happen again. For this reason, the role of the regional government is expected to be further developed.

Mainly in finding partners who are truly able to build one-price fuel distributors. So, there must be a strong assessment of the partners who register, so that once we choose that partner, he will continue to be able to build distributors. If not, it will happen like in some areas, wait not to be built, because of capital difficulties, "explained Saleh.

Saleh said, the local government also plays an important role in determining the location or point of the one-price fuel distributor, including the potential for market growth. The population has already been measured, approximately if it is built here, the developer (mitra) will also want to. This means that the capital will be returned as expected by investors and the community will also be greatly helped by the one-price fuel distributor," said Saleh.

SVP Government Program Management PT Pertamina (Persero) Aris Mulya Azof said, since 2017, Pertamina and its partners have succeeded in building One Price Fuel distributors according to the target. For 2024, the challenge of building One Price Fuel is higher than in early years because the regions are more difficult. "For this reason, new location points are needed quickly and well so that the target can be met, considering that physical development takes about 6-11 months," concluded Aris.
