JAKARTA - PT Wijaya Karya (Persero) Tbk (WIKA) won a new contract from the Gatot Subroto Underpass project in Medan City, North Sumatra. The contract value of the project reached IDR 217.84 billion.

WIKA President Director Agung Budi Waskito said the project was carried out through a Partnership (KSO) scheme with PT Andesmont Sakti.

Agung said the project initiated by the Ministry of PUPR stretches for 750 m as the main link between Medan and Binjai, which is part of the national road section in the urban area of Medan.

"The presence of the Gatot Subroto Underpass was built in line with the increasing growth and development of residential and industrial areas in the city of Medan, which is expected to support the government's program in smoothing the flow of vehicles as well as unraveling the traffic density from the original two lanes to four lanes," he said in a written statement, quoted on Tuesday, November 28.

The scope of work undertaken by WIKA includes a wall, bore pile, and a slab structure for tunneling using certain methods to achieve a faster duration of work while meeting security standards.

On the other hand, WIKA is also aggressively implementing digitalization in its business processes. Positive notes are also reflected in the digitalization steps implemented by the company, in accordance with the company's restructuring method.

Some of these steps are realized, among others, through the implementation of entertainment resources planning (ERP), digital based on a system application and processing (SAP).

The system related to controlling costs is not only applied to the company's environment, but also to subsidiaries who will be integrated with holding.

Not only that, WIKA also encourages the use of digital technology within the scope of the project, both to monitor performance to the work process.

Currently, the company is developing Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology in projects, one of which is the construction project of Jenderal Achmad Yani University (UNJANI) in Cimahi, West Java.
