Profit Soared, BTN Syariah Awarded

JAKARTA - The performance of the Sharia Business Unit owned by PT Bank Tabungan Negara (Persero) Tbk. (US BTN) which continued to soar, successfully won the The Highest Profit Growth of Sharia Unit Business Bank award at the Top 20 Financial Institution Award 2023.

Meanwhile, from the BTN Bank financial report, the BTN UUS net profit as of June 2023 grew 47.31 percent year-on-year (yoy). The BTN UUS recorded an increase in profit from Rp190.90 billion in June 2022 to Rp281.21 billion in June 2023.

This growth is above the average increase in net profit of all UUS in Indonesia. Data on Sharia Banking Statistics of the Financial Services Authority recorded a national UUS net profit of 10.38% yoy as of June 2023.

Director of Consumer Bank BTN Hirwandi Gafar said the award was a reminder for the company to continue to improve the performance of the sharia business.

"Our sharia business focuses on the distribution of housing financing, for that we will continue to spur sharia performance, especially to meet the needs of people's homes with sharia schemes," said Hirwandi in Jakarta, Monday, November 20.

In addition to the soaring net profit, Bank BTN's assets are also recorded to continue to grow. BTN Syariah recorded assets growing up to 14.69 percent yoy from IDR 40.35 trillion in June 2022 to IDR 46.27 trillion in the same month this year.

Meanwhile, BTN Syariah provides housing financing from upstream to downstream. Hirwandi explained that the financing products provided ranged from land ownership, house construction, home ownership financing (KPR), to house renovations. The BTN Bank UUS also focuses on channeling financing for low-income people (MBR).

Hirwandi continued, BTN Syariah also provides various financing schemes, namely KPR BTN Platinum iB, KPR BTN Indent iB, and KPR BTN Properti with the Musyarakah Mutanaqisah scheme. Through the Mutanaqisah Musyarakat scheme, the public can pay installments in stages according to the agreement with the Bank.
