In Front Of Members Of The DPR, President Director Irfan Setiaputra Suggests Politicians And Presidential Candidates To Rise Garuda During Campaign

JAKARTA - Indonesia will hold Presidential Elections (Pilpres), Legislative Elections (Pileg) and Regional Head Elections (Pilkada) 2024.

Not wanting to lose the moment, Garuda Indonesia hopes to get an overflow of benefits from this political period.

In a joint working meeting with Commission VIII of the DPR, Garuda Indonesia President Director Irfan Setiaputra alluded to the need for air transportation for campaigns.

Irfan said, during the campaign period, prospective legislative members could use Garuda Indonesia aircraft.

The 2024 simultaneous election campaign period starts on November 28, 2023.

"During the campaign, please make sure to fly with Garuda so that it doesn't arrive late. And the campaign can run smoothly," Irfan was quoted as saying on YouTube TV Parliament, Thursday, November 16.

In fact, Irfan also offers priority services for anyone for the campaign. Both the Legislative and Presidential Election campaigns.

Irfan also allowed members of the DPR RI to contact him directly.

"If necessary, you can contact me or Pak Ubay for that, so that we can make sure we get priority on the trip for campaigns both yourself and the presidential candidate," he explained.

As for Ubay, what Irfan meant was the Vice President of Garuda Indonesia who oversees the charter business or aircraft rental.

Separately, Irfan predicts that there will be an increase in the number of passenger traffic during the 2023 Christmas and 2024 New Year holidays.

The reason is, this year-end holiday period coincides with the general election campaign period (Pemilu).

Irfan said, the increase in the number of passengers is estimated to reach 30 percent of the average number of passengers in the normal period.

"There is an increase in the number of passengers, so we are monitoring. This is actually an increase in the extent to which. But like the previous year we estimated there would be an increase of around 20-30 percent of passengers," said Irfan at the Jakarta Parliament Building, Thursday, November 16.

"This year, we hope to approach 30 percent because apart from holidays there is a campaign," he continued.
