JAKARTA - Bank Indonesia (BI) held the Indonesia Sharia Economic Festival (ISEF) 2023 at the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC), on October 25-29, 2023. This is BI's 10th implementation.

In his remarks, BI Governor Perry Warjiyo said that the implementation of a decade of ISEF in 2023 brought Indonesia closer as the center of the Islamic financial economy globally.

"Welcome to the opening of the 10th ISEF in 2023. Alhamdulillah, a decade of ISEF has brought Indonesia closer to becoming the center of the Islamic financial economy," Perry said at the ISEF 2023 event at the JCC which was monitored online, Thursday, October 26.

Perry said that the implementation of the 2023 ISEF could not be separated from the strong intentions, maximum efforts, and prayers from all parties. "And at the same time this is the work of all of us as hamsah washal," he said.

Since the ISEF was held in the last 10 years, Perry said, there have been several important achievements that have been obtained by Indonesia.

"The formation of an integrated and digitalized Islamic financial economic ecosystem in Indonesia has begun, strengthening institutions and regulations for the development of the Islamic financial economy nationally and also regionally, as well as strengthening Indonesia's leadership in various international patterns," he said.

On the same occasion, the Vice President (Vice President) of the Republic of Indonesia Ma'ruf Amin also inaugurated the Master Plan of the Indonesian Halal Industry (MPIHI) and the One Indonesian Waqf application.

MPIHI is a master plan for the halal industry as a joint reference for the development of Indonesia's halal industry in realizing Indonesia's vision as a center for leading halal producers in the world.

The One Indonesian Waqf application is an application that will integrate and collaborate nationally with platforms from various waqf and amil zakat agencies in Indonesia.

That way, it can reach the wider community both in mobilizing funds and assets as well as in encouraging sustainable inclusion.
