JAKARTA PT Bank Negara Indonesia Tbk. (BNI) stated that the company continues to accelerate lending to Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) or inclusive financing as one of the pillars of national economic growth.

BNI Corporate Secretary Okki Rushartomo said that this commitment was part of the company's contribution as a government-controlled bank.

"The real proof of this commitment is the growth in BNI MSME lending which reaches 18.9 percent per year with a total of Rp118 trillion," he said in a written statement on Friday, July 21.

According to Okki, BNI managed to maintain a non-performing loan (NPL) ratio in the MSME segment below 3 percent. He claims this success was mainly driven by the acquisition of new debtors, increased financing, and effective remedial management and recovery.

"We are grateful that the growth of MSME loans is quite progressive. This is happening thanks to the improving economic conditions, as well as the efforts of the Ministry of SOEs to encourage BNI to transform and prioritize prudent banking principles," he said.

Okki emphasized that his party will continue to strengthen the value chain strategy, establish cooperation with various parties, as well as the development of a digital ecosystem to encourage the distribution of financing to MSMEs.

"BNI wants the financing provided to make a positive contribution in encouraging MSMEs to advance to class and jump higher into the international market," he said.

The entity with the stock code BBNI is recorded to place priorities in meeting the target of the Macroprudential Inclusive Financing Ratio (RPIM) of 30 percent in the 2024 period.

"We are proactive in supporting the Bank Indonesia program with efforts to meet this target," concluded Okki.
