According to Pudji, the number of foreign tourists visiting through the main gate was recorded at 703,000 visits.

Meanwhile, visits through border gates were recorded at 162 thousand foreign tourists.

Tourists visiting Indonesia in April 2023 were dominated by foreign tourists from Malaysia, namely 147.3 thousand foreign tourists or equivalent to 17.01 percent of the total visits.

Then, followed by Australia as many as 109.9 thousand foreign tourists or 12.69 percent, and Singapore as many as 97.3 thousand foreign tourists or 11.24 percent.

Cumulatively, foreign tourist visits from January to April 2023 increased by 393.83 percent compared to the same period in 2022, which was 3.17 million foreign tourists.

"Until April alone, the number of foreign tourist visits this year is equivalent to 53.88 percent of the total foreign tourists visiting throughout 2022," said Pudji.

The increase in visits was mainly driven by visits through the doors of Ngurah Rai and Soekarno-Hatta airports, which recorded an increase of 1,819.01 percent and 441.24 percent, respectively.

Even so, said Pudji, the number of foreign tourist visits since the pandemic until April 2023 is still lower when compared to visits before the pandemic which recorded 16.1 million foreign tourists visiting in 2019.

On the other hand, the Room Occupancy Rate (TPK) at star hotels in April 2023 reached 41.37 percent, up 7.14 points year on year (yoy) and down 4.88 points on a monthly basis (mtm).

Meanwhile, the TPK of non-star hotels in April 2023 reached 21.87 percent, an increase of 4.47 points yoy and 0.61 points on a mtm basis.

The average length of guests staying at star hotels increased by 0.01 points compared to last year, reaching 1.63 days.
