JAKARTA - The Minister of Trade Zulkifli Hasan emphasized that as an effort to fulfill people's needs during the fasting month until Eid 2023, the government and producers are ready to increase additional supplies of packaged and bulk cooking oil (migor) as much as 450,000 tons per month.

Zulhas, Zulifli Hasan's nickname, said that the additional oil supply will be carried out for three months, namely from February to April 2023.

This was conveyed by the Minister of Trade Zulkifli Hasan after holding an Evaluation Meeting on the Distribution of People's Cooking Oil with oil producers today, Monday, January 30, in Jakarta.

"The government and oil producers will increase the supply of cooking oil under the Domestic Market Obligation (DMO) program by 450,000 tons per month for three months, namely in February-April 2023 or an increase of 50 percent from the monthly DMO allocated of 300 thousand tons per month," said Zulhas.

Furthermore, Zulhas said oil producers had also stated their commitment to increase the domestic supply of DMO Migor.

"Business actors will report the realization on Friday every week with a copy to the Director General of Domestic Trade. In addition, business actors will also provide guidance to their respective distribution networks so that the HET is implemented properly," he explained.

Zulhas also said that he would ensure adequate supplies of cooking oil to people's markets and modern retailers throughout Indonesia.

"We will ensure distribution and fulfillment according to the highest retail price (HET) within the next week in all regions of Indonesia. We will also monitor and evaluate the implementation of cooking oil distribution, both in the Minyakita brand packaging and in bulk in people's markets and modern retail throughout Indonesia," he said.
