JAKARTA - The Minister of Manpower (Menaker) Ida Fauziyah gave a positive signal regarding the increase in the provincial minimum wage (UMP) 2023.
However, Ida refused to specify the percentage of the increase.
"Yes, there is (an increase) of several percent", he told reporters on Sunday, October 30.
Currently, said Ida, his party is in the stage of deliberation to absorb the aspirations of workers or laborers who demand an increase in wages next year.
Furthermore, Ida said, the Ministry of Manpower through the Director General of Industrial Relations and Social Security for the Ministry of Manpower, Indah Anggoro Putri, has also established communication with the workers to finalize the proposed minimum wage increase by 2023.
"Now in the process, I have asked the Director General to hear the aspirations of the workers, now in the process of finalizing the views and aspirations", he explained.
Labor Demands 13 Percent Wage Increase in 2023
Previously, KSPI President Said Iqbal demanded a 13 percent increase in the minimum wage in 2023. Moreover, the increase in the price of fuel this year has triggered a price increase that has already been felt by the workers.

"We refuse if the minimum wage increase uses PP 36", said Iqbal.
