Fire In Bagaguh, Kapuas Regency, Central Kalimantan Hanguskan 23 Houses

A big fire broke out in Pulau Mambulau Village, Bataguh District, Kapuas Regency, Central Kalimantan, Thursday, at around 01.30 WIB and scorched 23 residents' houses.

"There are 23 temporary data on houses that burned down, with 33 families affected," said Bataguh sub-district head, Syuryudin.

He explained that at the time of the incident there were obstacles in the effort to extinguish the fire because it was located opposite the river, so they had to use a boat to reach the location.

"The road access is also narrow, so it is difficult to enter a fire engine, plus limited water sources because the river water is receding," he said, quoted by Antara.

His party is currently still collecting data for details affected by the fire accident in the densely populated area.

The cause or origin of the fire is not yet known. The new fire can be extinguished by officers an hour later.

Regarding the disaster, the Kapuas Regency Government moved quickly to help affected residents. Assistance is provided by the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) and the local district Social Service (Dinsos) to serve residents.

"Based on the instructions of the Acting Regent through BPBD and Social Service to act quickly to serve fire victims in Mambulau Island Village," said Head of the Kapuas Social Service Office, Yanmarto.

In addition to assistance, his party has also built a command post and public kitchen to help fire victims. "We have built a post and also a public kitchen for emergency response," he said.

In addition, health services are also provided for affected residents from the local district health office. "Even though it's a holiday, according to the direction of the leadership, it's still on standby to serve the community," said Yanmarto.
