Reflecting On Saudi Arabia, Minister Of Religion Yaqut Checks Hajj Preparations 2024

JAKARTA - Minister of Religion, Yaqut Cholil Qoumas left for Saudi Arabia to check various preparations for the implementation of the 1445 Hijri/2024 AD pilgrimage.

"I want to check the extent of the readiness of Hajj in Saudi. In addition, I actually want to see Nusuk's regulations regarding the Umrah backpacker which is now an issue," said Minister of Religion Yaqut as quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, March 21.

Currently, the ranks of the Ministry of Religion continue to finalize Hajj services, such as transportation, accommodation, consumption, and various other services in Saudi Arabia. Regarding Umrah backpackers, the Minister of Religion will review the regularity of regulations between regulations from Saudi Arabia and Indonesia.

During a working meeting with Commission VIII of the DPR RI, March 18, 2024, the Minister of Religion conveyed that it was necessary to provide regulations governing the increasing Umrah backpacker phenomenon.

"The goal and objective is how every Umrah citizen is guaranteed his health, safety and comfort, including Umrah backpackers," said the Minister of Religion.

He hopes that the regulations that will be prepared will be appropriate, appropriate, and good, and able to accommodate the needs of Umrah pilgrims, especially the protection of the congregation.

In the process of drafting it, the Minister of Religion said that the Ministry of Religion will coordinate jointly with all PPIU, Special Hajj Organizers (PIHK), as well as the Hajj and Umrah Guidance Group (KBIHU).

"If needed, a good and integrated system will be built, with PPIU, PIHK and KBIHU in providing services to pilgrims, especially those who will perform Umrah," said the Minister of Religion.
