White House: US Intends Not To Send Troops To Ukraine

United States National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan said the US had no intention of sending its troops to Ukraine.

"Our position is clear, we don't mean to send US troops to Ukraine," Sullivan said when asked by reporters about French President Emmanuel Macron's statement.

Sullivan reminded President Joe Biden to reaffirm the US stance in his state speech earlier this month.

After a conference on Ukraine in Paris on February 26, Macron said Western leaders had discussed the possibility of sending troops to Ukraine and nothing could be ruled out, although no consensus was reached on the proposal.

Other Western countries such as Germany rejected the proposal and saidNATO had no intention of sending troops to Ukraine.

Moscow has warned that the deployment of NATO troops to Ukraine will make direct conflict with Russia unavoidable.

Russia needs to remain vigilant as generations of European politicians today do not have the instinct to defend themselves, the Kremlin said in response to Macron's remarks.
