JAKARTA - Member of Commission II of the DPR RI Democratic Faction Wahyu Sanjaya revealed the reason for the proposed building of the DPR RI to be built at the last in the capital city of Nusantara (IKN) in a meeting with the head of the Authority yesterday. According to him, this is so far not to burden the ongoing development. "Yes, we are actually realistic, the burden is being big there, the burden of development is very heavy there, there are many, 122 infrastructure buildings that want to be resolved. If we can't help a lot of at least we don't burden it," Wahyu Sanjaya told reporters, Tuesday, March 19. Wahyu actually suggested that the DPR building no longer needs to be built in IKN. Even if it has to be built, according to him, it is better to build later and prioritize other buildings. Like housing for ASN that has started moving to IKN. "If it is really felt that it is necessary, the last time the DPR office was built, it's okay, after that, if it is not needed, only a small building is needed, just a minimum for the meeting room first," explained Wahyu. The Democratic legislator for the South Sumatra electorate electorate electoral district considered that the old DPR building could be used for large meetings. Or if it had to be a meeting at IKN, he said, it could use a ministry building building that was there. "If one day it takes a large ceremonial annual trial, it can also use a long office like that. If we have to accept state guests, right, so we prefer our personal view that public services should be prioritized, housing for ASN friends who work on the side of the government is much more important than the DPR building," Wahyu said. Previously, Wahyu Sanjaya proposed that the construction of the DPR building in the Nusantara Capital City (IKN) was carried out most recently after the entire priority for IKN development was completed. Because according to him, there are still a variety of other development priorities that must be carried out at IKN.

"I personally propose that if possible, the DPR building will be the last to build it because the priorities needed to build the nation's capital are so large that we must give priority scales first to the government," Wahyu said during a meeting with the Head of the IKN Authority at the DPR Commission II Building, Monday, March 18.

"So maybe after everything is finished, then we will be the last. If necessary, the least corner is not a problem, but the last one (development)," he continued.

However, the construction of the DPR building at IKN is scheduled to begin in 2025.
