DENPASAR - The Ngurah Rai Immigration Office, Bali, examined four foreign nationals (WNA) who caused trouble during the Nyepi Holy Day celebration, one of which was also found that his residence permit had expired.

"We collaborated with relevant agencies during Nyepi to maintain order," said Ngurah Rai Immigration Office Head Suhendra, Wednesday, March 13.

He explained that the foreigner with the initials MB from Russia was initially taken to the South Kuta Police by Balinese or Pecalang traditional security officers for disturbing public order during Nyepi on Monday (11/3) in the South Kuta area, Badung Regency.

Immigration Intelligence and Enforcement Officer (Inteljakim) Ngurah Rai then examined MB and it turned out that the 51-year-old woman exceeded the residence permit.

Based on Ngurah Rai Immigration records, MB entered Indonesia via I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport, on October 12, 2023, using a visit visa on arrival or Visa on Arrival (VoA) whose validity period expired on November 10, 2023.

"From the results of the examination, the person concerned has overstayed (exceeding the residence permit) for more than 60 days," he said.

MB was then taken to the Denpasar Immigration Detention Center to prepare for deportation back to his country.

Furthermore, the second foreigner is a man who was arrested by Pecalang for wandering around while Nyepi on Jalan Raya Uluwatu, South Kuta, Badung Regency.

However, Inteljakim officers could not dig deeper into the information, including the identity of the foreigner because he was suspected of having depression.

Inteljakim Immigration Officer Ngurah Rai together with Pecalang then took the foreigner to the Ngoerah Central General Hospital (RSUP) in Sanglah, Denpasar, for a medical examination.

While the third and fourth foreigners, namely the initials OT and JC from France, were intercepted by pecalang while disturbing order at night during Nyepi.

"The two young men who are both 21 years old are roaming Jalan Raya Uluwatu, South Kuta," he said.

He said the two French foreigners were given verbal warnings by pecalang and returned to where they were staying.

Based on the Immigration examination, said Suhendra, both of them still have valid residence permits, each OT is valid until March 25, 2024 and JS until April 6, 2024.
