JAKARTA - The Ministry of Religion responded to the statement of the lecturer Miftah Maulana alias Gus Miftah who talked about the prohibition of using loudspeakers or speakers during the Al-Quran tadarus in Ramadan during a lecture in Bangsri, Sukodono, Sidoarjo, East Java.

Spokesperson for the Ministry of Religion Anna Hasbie said that Gus Miftah failed to understand and the origin of the sound (of the sound) for comparing the use of speakers with dangdutan which he said was not prohibited even until 1 am.

Gus Miftah's statement circulated through video clips uploaded on a number of social media.

"Gus Miftah looks asbun and fails to understand the circular regarding guidelines for the use of loudspeakers in mosques and prayer rooms. Because of the stone and does not understand, what was conveyed was also haphazard, inappropriate," Anna said in a statement in Jakarta, Monday, March 11.

Anna then asked Gus Miftah to read it again and understand the contents of the circular signed by the Minister of Religion Yaqut Cholil Qoumas.

"As a lecturer, so that it is not asymptomatic and provocative, Gus Miftah should first understand the circular. If you don't understand it, you can ask for the right explanation. Moreover, comparing it to dangdutan, it is clearly not right and misguided," said Anna Hasbie.

Anna Hasbie reminded the Ministry of Religion on February 18, 2022, to issue Circular Number SE. 05 of 2022 concerning Guidelines for the Use of Loudspeakers at Mosques and Musala. This circular aims to create peace, order, and mutual comfort in syiar in diverse communities, both religion, belief, background, and others.

This circular also regulates the use of inner loudspeakers and outer loudspeakers. One of the circular points regulates the use of loudspeakers in the month of Ramadan, both in Tarawih Prayers, Ramadan lectures / lectures, and the Qur'an tadarus using Deep Loudspeakers.

Anna emphasized that this circular does not prohibit using loudspeakers. This rule, he said, is also not a new circular.

"Please Tadarus Al-Qur'an use loudspeakers for the syiar walk. For mutual comfort, the loudspeaker used is enough to use inside speakers," said Anna Hasbie.

"This is also not a new circular, it has existed since 1978 in the form of an Instruction from the Director General of Islamic Community Guidance Number Kep/D/101/1978. It is also regulated that during Ramadan, day and night, the recitation of the Qur'an uses inner loudspeakers," he continued.

Anna added that this circular was not made to limit Ramadan's symbols. The tadarrus, tarawih, and qiyamul-lail activities during Ramadan are highly recommended. He said that the use of loudspeakers is regulated, precisely so that the atmosphere of Ramadan becomes more sustainable.

"If the sound is too loud, especially between the mosques close to each other, the sound actually collides with each other and becomes less legitimate. If it is regulated, God willing, it will be more solemn, it is better to hear, and if it is lecture or study, it is also easier to understand," he said.
