The bridge connecting Kupang Regency and South Central Timor Regency (TTS) in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) was broken by the flood. "Tomorrow, the mutual cooperation for the construction of alternative roads will be arranged for vehicles to pass," said Central Amfoang Sub-district Head Mars Prayudin Bureni when contacted, Wednesday, March 6, as reported by Antara. He explained that heavy rain in the area for two days caused the At'enas Bridge, which is located in Hamlet 1 Deas Binafun, to break on Wednesday, March 6 afternoon. As a result, two- and four-wheeled vehicles cannot pass through the route because part of the bridge side has been carried away by the flood currents. The bridge itself is a strategic route in Central Amfoang because it connects Binafun Village and Bonmuti Village in the sub-district to Nunbena District in TTS Regency. As a form of emergency handling, his party also plans to make alternative roads tomorrow. This has been conveyed to the village community to be involved in the construction of roads. "Please support from all parties to help us," he said.
The Head of the Kupang Regency Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), Semy Tinenti, said that his party had coordinated with the Kupang Regency PUPR Office for emergency handling. The BPBD of Kupang Regency was also prepared to review the location of the incident. "We ask the village head to urge the public so that when it was still raining, people would not force themselves to cross the river," said Semi when contacted from Kupang.
