Police Name 4 Suspects Of Santri Persecution In Kediri To Death

KEDIRI - Kediri City Police, East Java, arrested four students from one of the Islamic boarding schools in Mojo District, Kediri Regency, East Java, related to the case of their friend who died allegedly being abused.

Kediri City Police Chief AKBP Bramastyo Priaji explained that his party was following up on the family report. Even though the report was in Banyuwangi, the Kediri City Police continued to follow up by examining the scene of the case and examining a number of witnesses.

"This case occurred in one of the Islamic boarding schools in Mojo, Kediri Regency. We have named four suspects and we have detained them for further investigation," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, February 26.

The four suspects are MN (18) from Sidoarjo, MA (18) from Nganjuk Regency, AF (16) from Denpasar Bali, and AK (17) from Surabaya.

Meanwhile, the victim with the initials BM (14), who is the younger brother of the perpetrators. The victim came from Afdeling Kamunganyar, Kendengembu Hamlet, Karangharjo Village, Glenmore District, Banyuwangi.

He explained that the case was repeated. Allegedly, there was a misunderstanding between the children that caused repeated abuse.

His party is also still investigating the case, including asking for information from the pesantren and the doctor who examined the body.

"We are also investigating the hut. What is certain is that we have named four suspects," he said.

The student is known to have died on Friday (23/2). The case was reported to the Glenmore Police, Banyuwangi, on Saturday (24/2).

The four perpetrators are threatened with Article 80 paragraph 2 concerning amendments to the Child Protection Act with a penalty of 15 years in prison.

Meanwhile, the caretaker of the Islamic boarding school where the students studied in Mojo District, Kediri Regency, Fatihunada, admitted that he did not know about the incident. On Friday (23/2) he was suddenly given a report that his student had died.

"At that time I achieved and woke up. I received a report that the child slipped in the bathroom. At that time there was no suspicion and I did not have time to see because I took care of the ambulance and the need to go there (Banyuwangi)," said Gus Fatih, his nickname.

He then looked for the student's family's phone number and contacted him. The family plans to bury him in Banyuwangi, so he is also looking for an ambulance to carry the body. Until then he was at the funeral home there was a viral incident (a family video of not accepting the student's death).

He admitted that he could not bear to see the condition of the student's body when it opened at the funeral home, Banyuwangi. There were bruises and his face was swollen.
