ACEH - The Independent Election Commission (KIP) of Aceh Province stated that as many as 15 polling stations (TPS) held a re-voting for the 2024 General Election. Head of the Technical Division for Election Implementation (KIP) of Aceh Province Muhammad Sayuni said the re-voting was carried out based on recommendations from the election supervisor because there were findings of violations. "There are 15 polling stations in a number of regencies and cities that carry out re-voting. Several polling stations today carry out re-voting, such as in Bener Meriah Regency," he said in Banda Aceh, Antara, Wednesday, February 21. The re-voting will be held no later than February 24, 2024 or 10 days after the 2024 election vote. "Most of the 15 polling stations held a re-voting on February 24, 2024. This is related to election logistics, including ballots," said Muhammad Sayuni. The TPS held a re-voting, including TPS 01 Gampong Teubaluy, Darul Kamal District, Aceh Besar District. TPS 03 Gampong Keuramat, Kuta Alam District, Banda Aceh City. Next is TPS 02 Gampong Cot Bak U, Sukajaya District, Sabang City. TPD 02 Gampong Mesjid, Bandar Baru District, Pidie Jaya Regency. TPS 01 Pantan Lues Village, Gajah Putih District, Bener Meriah Regency. "As well as in several other regencies and cities such as Simeulue Regency, Lhokseumawe City, Southeast Aceh Regency. Some of them have already voted a few days ago," said Muhammad Sayuni. Meanwhile, the Head of the Legal and Supervision Division of the Aceh Province KIP, Ahmad Mirza Safwandy, said that the re-voting was carried out because there were findings of various violations. "Violations include voters who are not registered as voters at the TPS, allegedly voting more than once, and others. Re-voting is carried out based on recommendations from the election supervisor," said Ahmad Mirza Safwandy. Based on regulations, he said, re-voting was carried out, including due to natural disasters, riots caused the voting results to be non-usable. Then, the opening of ballot boxes or other related matters is not according to procedures, the damage to ballots which causes invalid ballots and voters to vote more than once.

"For the types of elections that are re-voted, only violations occur. So not all types of elections are re-voting," said Ahmad Mirza Safwandy.
