The Surakarta Palace Prepares An Increase In The King's Throne Ceremony

Surakarta Hadiningrat Kasunanan Palace is preparing to carry out the ceremony to raise the throne of Raja Paku Buwana XIII or also known as Hajad Tingalan Dalem Jumeningan 20 of 2024, Tuesday (6/2).

Deputy Pengageng Sasana Wilopo Kanjeng Pangeran Dani Nur Adiningrat said that some of the preparations that had been made, including different dances, different kirabs, and heirlooms belonging to the palace.

"The heirloom area in the form of a gamelan which is also held for the ceremony. There are several heirloom games prepared," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, February 5.

He said that at the ceremony to raise the throne, it would begin with the courtiers gathered in the Semorokoto Nation and the dalem centers gathered around Dalem Ageng.

"Furthermore, we waited for the sinuwun to come out. Then the delegates came in, then continued the Bedaya Ketawang dance," he said.

Regarding the jumengan procession, he said, so far the implementation has not been confirmed.

"Given the state situation ahead of the election, the carnival is not directly like last year. Later there will be further instructions, there will be a carnival or not," he said.

He said if there was a carnival, it might not be close to a jumengan event.

Asked about guests from the upcoming officials, according to him, it is not certain.

"Usually officials go directly from sinuwun, so there is a confirmation guest to him," he said.

Meanwhile, the number of jumengan participants from both courtiers and palace families, a number of figures, and government officials is estimated at around 2,000 people.
