Ridwan Kamil: Hopefully The Fifth Debate Won't Be Much Gimic

Chairman of the Prabowo-Gibran Regional Campaign Team (TKD) West Java Ridwan Kamil hopes that the fifth debate between the three presidential candidates will not be met with many games.

He said the fifth debate, which is the last contest for the KPU RI, could explore the substance, including the vision, mission, and work programs of the three presidential candidates, namely Anies Baswedan, Prabowo Subianto, and Ganjar Pranowo.

"Hopefully this debate is not too much games, yes, it is more substantial so that people are presented with a qualitative debate. That is our hope, there are no (attacks, ed.) personal ones, which in my opinion are not substantive," said Ridwan Kamil in response to reporters' questions when he was met at the fifth debate location, Jakarta Convention Center (JCC), Jakarta, Sunday.

Ridwan Kamil also hopes that the results of the last debate will later strengthen voters' confidence in candidate pair number 2 Prabowo-Gibran. He emphasized that in principle the Prabowo-Gibran pair wanted to continue the good programs of the Indonesian President Joko Widodo's administration.

"I think this is the last debate, it is hoped that the public can sympathize with how the pair 02 is committed to the things that will be discussed tonight. Our concept continues. So, good things from President Jokowi's government will be continued, related to education, health, etc.," he said.

At the debate location, Prabowo was accompanied by his partner, Gibran Rakabuming Raka, and a group of successful teams from TKN Prabowo-Gibran.

The Indonesian KPU has determined three pairs of presidential and vice presidential candidates participating in the 2024 presidential election, namely Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar with serial number 1, Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka number 2, and Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud Md. serial number 3.

The fifth debate, which was attended by three presidential candidates tonight, is a series of closing debate events held by the General Elections Commission (KPU RI). Five debate sessions that were followed alternately by the presidential and vice presidential candidates were official forums held by the KPU for three pairs of candidates campaigning and debate ideas. The previous debates took place on December 12, 2023, December 22, 2023, January 7, 2024, and January 21, 2024.

The last debate, which ended the series of debates for the 2024 presidential election, raised themes such as education, health, employment, culture, information technology, and social welfare and inclusion.
