JAKARTA - The Medan City Police (Polrestabes), North Sumatra confiscated 53 kilograms of methamphetamine and 10,000 pills of happy five from two perpetrators suspected of being from the Malaysian network.

"The perpetrators who were arrested were a man with the initials DN (28) and TZ (28) who were residents of Cikupa, Tanggerang Regency, Banten Province," said Medan Police Chief Kombes Pol Teddy Jhon Sahala Marbun in a statement received by Antara in Medan, Sunday.

Teddy said the disclosure of the case was previously based on the results of developments in which personnel arrested E and his friends in October 2023.

Then, according to Teddy, from the development, the personnel received information that there was a shipment of drug evidence from Malaysia to Tanjungbalai City, North Sumatra.

"After that, the personnel checked at the location, it turned out that the perpetrator was suspected of having headed to Pekan Baru, precisely on the Sumatra highway by car on January 29, 2024 at around 17:30 WIB," he said.

Furthermore, Teddy said, personnel were chasing the perpetrators at the place. At the location, the personnel arrested DN with evidence of four burlaps containing methamphetamine and ecstasy pills, and then the personnel arrested TZ in a separate place.
