President Jokowi Continues To Be 'tempted' By Kaesang To Participate In PSI Campaign

PONTIANAK - Chairman of the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI) Kaesang Pangarep continues to 'tempt' President Joko Widodo who is also his father to participate in the PSI campaign at some time. This was conveyed by Kaesang in response to questions from media crews regarding the possibility of President Jokowi participating in the PSI campaign. "God willing, if given the opportunity, if there is time, we will be very open," said Kaesang after the grand campaign in Pontianak, West Kalimantan, quoted from Antara, Tuesday, January 30. Kaesang is also grateful that President Joko Widodo has provided his support for PSI. The President's support was conveyed by Kaesang himself after he met his father Jokowi in Yogyakarta, last Saturday, January 27. On the same day, President Jokowi also took the time to play football with PSI Chairman Kaesang Pangarep on the Gamplong soccer field, Gamplong Village, Sleman Regency, DIY. Kaesang also responded to the President's statement saying that his youngest child was invited back and forth to campaign for PSI. However, Kaesang said that President Joko Widodo was busy with presidential activities. "Go back again, it's just a matter of time, right? He has a busy time. Who knows, he will want to take time off for the campaign, who knows," said Kaesang. However, Kaesang emphasized that his party had not yet received confirmation from the President regarding his willingness to participate in the joint campaign. "La itu, belum tahu," katanya. In the grand campaign in Pontianak, Kaesang was accompanied by PSI Deputy Board of Trustees Grace Natalie and PSI Board of Trustees Isyana Bagoes Oka. Kaesang will undergo a series of grand campaigns in a number of cities from Tuesday to Thursday (1/2), namely in Pontianak, Manado, Kupang, Malang, and Kertajati. As announced by the Indonesian KPU that the 2024 General Election was attended by 18 national political parties, namely (according to serial numbers) the National Awakening Party, Gerindra Party, PDI Perjuangan, Golkar Party, NasDem Party, Labor Party, and the Indonesian Gelora Party. Next, Partai Keadilan Sejahtera (PKS), Partai Kebangkitan Nusantara (PKN), Partai Hanura, Partai Garuda, Partai Amanat Nasional (PAN), Partai Bulan Bintang (PBB), Partai Demokrat, Partai Solidaritas Indonesia (PSI), Partai Perindo, Partai Persatuan Pembangunan (PPP), and Partai Ummat. In addition, the 2024 election was also attended by six local political parties, namely the Aceh Nanggroe Party, the Atjeh Beusaboh Tha'at and Taqwa Generation Party, the Aceh Darul Party, the Aceh Aceh Party, the Aceh Prosperous Justice Party, and the Acehnese People's Independent Solidity Party. The voting for legislative elections, including the DPD RI Member Election, was held simultaneously with the 2024 Presidential and Vice Presidential Elections on February 14, 2024.

The Indonesian KPU has also determined the 2024 Presidential and Vice Presidential Election participants, namely the Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar pair number 1, Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka number 2, and Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud Md. serial number 3.
