JAKARTA - The National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas) said as many as 16 climbers of Mount Gede Pangrango, West Java were found safe after being reported lost.

Head of the Operations Section of the Jakarta Basarnas Agung Priambodo said the 16 climbers were found in Saung, a garden owned by a resident of Pasir Pogor, Cibedug Village, Ciawi District, Bogor Regency, West Java.

"Survivors were finally found this afternoon at an altitude of 1238 MDPL with the condition of two people with leg sprains and the remaining 14 people were safe," he said, quoted by ANTARA, Monday, January 29.

Previously, the joint SAR team conducted a search with Explore SAR on Monday (29/1) at around 02.30 WIB by combing the climbing area along the footpath from Kulah Dua Ciawi to the scene of the incident until finally all survivors were found safe.

Agung said that previously the information obtained was 13 survivors who got lost, but after being found it turned out that 16 survivors had been rescued.
