Gus Yahya Reminds PBNU For Organizational Discipline, NU's Function Is Like A Judge Unifying Differences

JAKARTA - General Chairperson (Ketum) of the Nahdlatul Ulama (PBNU) Executive Board Yahya Cholil Staquf or Gus Yahya asked NU administrators to spur performance for Indonesia's victory in facing the challenges of the times.

"We must spur performance to guard Indonesia's victory because in the midst of the challenges of history on a scale of civilization, Indonesia must win, so that we all remain sovereign," said Gus Yahya when opening the Nahdlatul Ulama Grand Conference and the National Halaqah of the Nahdlatul Ulama Civilization Strategy at the Al-Munawwir Islamic Boarding School (Ponpes) Krapyak, Yogyakarta, Monday, January 29, was confiscated by Antara.

Gus Yahya said that all NU administrators must change their work efforts in order to obtain strategic results considering that NU's responsibilities are not small in facing the challenges of the times.

He reminded that in carrying out this performance, it would not be like chasing a broken kite or just happy to join the crowd, but difficult to get results.

"Even if the kite is obtained, many take it so that it is damaged, it is useless," he said.

Therefore, Gus Yahya emphasized that NU must play a real role in the dynamics of fighting interests among a number of different groups that continue to roll from local, domestic to global levels.

According to him, in it there are demands that are heavy to be borne by the entire nation, while the time available is not much.

"Likewise, at the global level, there is extraordinary dynamics that if this nation cannot find the right direction in the future, there is a real and continuous threat to the nation from human sovereignty as citizens of the nation," he said.

According to him, there is no other way but to strengthen the nation and this country as a stronghold in maintaining joint sovereignty in the midst of the collapse of physical and geographical borders and followed by the growth of great powers.

"So this nation and country must be strong, strengthen togetherness to keep this nation from being weakened by anything, but it is even more strengthened and we must witness the world that the world needs a strong Indonesia because Indonesia has many things that are needed by the world to find a way out of its various problems," he said.

Therefore, Gus Yahya reminded all PBNU administrators, especially tanfidziyah, to always pay attention to organizational discipline by following firmly, firmly'sam' the wa tha'atan (hear and obey) to leadership decisions.

Because, he continued, organizational leadership is a judge who plays a role in resolving any differences.

"So NU is established as a function of judges who can unite any differences that occur among these people in the framework of 'ahlussunnah wal jamaah'," he concluded.
