JAYAPURA - Intan Jaya Police Chief AKBP Afrizal Asri said that airlines are currently afraid to fly their planes to Sugapa, the capital city of Intan Jaya Regency, Central Papua, because of the threat of shooting by KKB.

"As a result of the threat of shooting from the KKB, today, Monday (22/1) no aircraft flew to Sugapa," said Intan Jaya Police Chief AKBP Afrizal Asri as reported by ANTARA, Monday, January 22.

AKBP Afrizal said that when the weather was sunny, there were 20 flights to Sugapa Bilorai Airport.

Flights to Bilorai are usually from Nabire and Timika by using small planes.

According to the Police Chief, the acting Regent of Intan Jaya will hold a meeting with Forkopimda to take steps related to the matter.

KKB on Sunday (21/1) gave a warning to Timika's subscriber Nabire not to fly his plane to Bilorai Airport, Sugapa because they were ready to shoot.

Earlier on Friday (19/1), the KKB attacked the Brimob Post in Sugapa, causing a Brimob member, Brigadier Anumerta Alfindo Steve Karamoy, to die.
