11 Pickpockets Arrested By Temanggung Police Coming From Jakarta, Specialist For Music Concerts

Temanggung Police arrested 11 pickpockets, consisting of two groups at a music concert at Maron Field, Tuesday, January 16. Temanggung Police Chief AKBP Ary Sudrajat said the group of perpetrators came from Jakarta. "They are native to Jakarta and carry out the modus operandi every time there is an activity, especially in Central Java, they will definitely come," he said in Temanggung, Antara, Thursday, January 18. The first group arrested had the initials RA, CA, AM, IM, RM, and MB. Then the second group with the initials JI, SI, YA, KI, and MO. In the modus operandi, he said, they pickpocketed or took the victim's belongings during the crowd activities. "So, the modus operandi is that every time there are activities related to the crowd they commit theft with this weight," he said. Thanks to information obtained by members of the Temanggung Police and detecting that every time there are activities, he said, there are several victims who feel lost. Therefore, members of the Temanggung Police carried out mapping and investigation. "It turned out that the information was true, we finally made an arrest," he said. The evidence that was secured was 15 cell phones resulting from the crime and 2 units of vehicles to carry out the modus operandi.

The suspect was charged with Article 363 of the Criminal Code with a maximum penalty of 7 years in prison.
