Bawaslu Check Reports On Alleged Violations Of Ridwan Kamil's Campaign

BANDUNG - The West Java Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) is investigating the alleged violation of the campaign stage by the Chairman of the West Java Prabowo-Gibran TKD, Ridwan Kamil in Tasikmalaya Regency, some time ago.

The Coordinator of the Prevention and Participation Division of the West Java Bawaslu Community, Nuryamah, said that the alleged report would be followed up by Bawaslu.

If there are indications of a violation, then Ridwan Kamil will be summoned to undergo clarification according to the applicable procedures and mechanisms.

"We don't know yet, the supervision has not been carried out. There has only been a report, so we'll just have to wait. We can't judge because we need more detailed information, including from the regions. Later (Ridwan Kamil) can be called or not, depending on the results of the plenary sessions of his colleagues who handle (Bawaslu Tasikmalaya Regency)," said Nuryamah in Bandung as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, January 17.

Meanwhile, the Coordinator of the West Java Bawaslu Violation Handling Division, Syaiful Bachri, said that his party would check first regarding reports that came in.

According to him, so far the West Java Bawaslu only found out after receiving the news shipment.

Therefore, his party together with Bawaslu, Tasikmalaya Regency will conduct a deeper investigation regarding the alleged violation by Ridwan Kamil.

"In principle, I have heard about the activity in Tasik, according to information from the Head (Bawaslu) of Tasik Regency, there is no (report). But we and Tasik Regency will conduct a search related to this," he said.

Previously, the West Java PDI-P DPD reported an alleged violation of the campaign to the West Java Bawaslu Office on Tuesday, January 16, 2024.

Member of the West Java PDI-P Legal Aid and Advocacy Agency (BBHAR) Naga Sentana said there were allegations of violations of ASN neutrality and involving ASN by Ridwan Kamil.

In the 88-second video, the Chairperson of the West Java Prabowo-Gibran TKD uses the attributes of the candidate pair in the activities of the Village Consultative Body (BPD) in Tasikmalaya Regency.

Therefore, said Naga, his party reported to West Java Bawaslu to follow up on the alleged violation, because it is very likely that BPD members are ASN on duty at the village office.

"This is the reporting of alleged campaign violations committed by the Chairperson of the West Java TKD from candidate pair number 2 in a jamboree event conducted by the Tasikmalaya Regency Village Consultative Body, a few days ago," said Naga.

In the video footage, Ridwan Kamil sings and dances on stage and is watched by dozens of participants. He also gave some money to one of the people who danced on stage.
