KENDARI - The Internal Security Sub-Directorate in the National Police (Paminal) for Profession and Security (Propam) of the Southeast Sulawesi Police (Sultra) arrested an individual with the initials Bripda AN in Kendari City, Southeast Sulawesi Province related to the LGBT case. The Head of Public Relations of the Southeast Sulawesi Regional Police, Kombes Ferry Walintukan, stated that the truth of the arrest of police officers was allegedly related to sexual irregularities on January 10, 2024. "It's true, it happened on January 10, 2024," Ferry said when met in Kendari, quoted from Antara, Wednesday, January 17. He said that the arrest of Bripda AN began when the Sub-Directorate of Paminal Bid Porpam Polda Sultra received an information report from the West Sumatra Police regarding the results of the development of the LGBT case it was handling. "The Paminal Bid Propam Sub-Directorate Team of the Southeast Sulawesi Regional Police received information reports from the results of the development of the case at the West Sumatra Regional Police that there was involvement of Southeast Sulawesi Regional Police personnel suspected of having sexual irregularities on behalf of Bripda AN," he said. After receiving the information, continued Ferry, the Propam Bid Team immediately mobilized personnel to secure Bripda AN for examination. "He is still in the process of being investigated by the Propam Bid of the Southeast Sulawesi Police," said Ferry. If Bripda AN is proven to have committed sexual deviation, said Ferry, the Propam Bid of the Southeast Sulawesi Police will take firm action and impose sanctions up to the heaviest, namely dishonorable dismissal (PTDH) or dismissal. "What is the worst possibility if it is proven that it could be PTDH. So, the members involved in the sexual harassment case are most likely to be PTDH in accordance with the regulations from the Head of the Propam Police Division (Head of Division)," said Ferry. Ferry also revealed that based on the results of the development, it was known that Bripda AN in his childhood was a victim of sexual violence. "The information is, he is actually a victim because when he was a child he had experienced sexual violence," he said.

Bripda AN who was arrested for the LGBT case is a Kendari Police personnel.
