Presidential candidate number 3 Ganjar Pranowo respects the decision of senior politician Maruarar Sirait or commonly called Ara who officially resigned from the PDI-P (PDIP).

According to Ganjar, the decision was Ara's right and considered it an ordinary political phenomenon.

"I think it's Ara's right to move or leave. Maybe he has another agenda. I am a person close to Ara," said Ganjar after at the PDI-P DPC office in Batang Regency, Central Java, Tuesday, January 16.

Ganjar admitted that he suspected that Ara would withdraw from the PDI-P. He said that Ara's close relationship with President Jokowi might be one of the reasons behind his decision.

"Oh, if Ara is close to Pak Jokowi. I suspect maybe they will support Pak Jokowi because during yesterday's debate his son was already wearing another candidate shirt and was already in the next group. For me, it's okay. This is normal politics," said Ganjar.

Previously, Ara declared his resignation after meeting directly with the Deputy General Treasurer of the PDIP DPP Rudianto Tjen and the Deputy Secretary General of the PDIP Utut Adianto at the PDIP DPP Office, Jalan Diponegoro, Menteng, Jakarta, last Monday.

"After I prayed and discussed with the closest people, my closest friends, I decided to say goodbye to the PDIP today," said Ara at the PDIP DPP office.

Ara admitted that he resigned from the party led by Megawati Soekarnoputri because he followed the steps of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi).

"I chose to follow Pak Jokowi's steps because I believe Pak Jokowi is a leader who is strongly supported by the Indonesian people. His public trust, his approval rating is 75-80 percent," said Ara.

Ara emphasized that Jokowi had fought a lot for the progress of the Indonesian nation and the welfare of the Indonesian people. He admitted that he was ready with Jokowi to work for the nation and state.

"He (Jokowi) has fought for many things, how to firmly deal with radicalism, how to make the majority of Indonesia's shares in Freeport and how to also help the small people and also move the capital city, there is equity," said Ara.

Therefore, Ara followed Jokowi in future political choices. However, Ara did not explain the details of this political move.

"So, I chose to be with Mr. Jokowi in my next political choice in the future. Please pray for his blessing," said Ara.
