DENPASAR - The Immigration Office of Denpasar, Bali, deported fake Kazakh investors who misused residence permits that did not match visas but became a swimming coach.

"We will not tolerate violations of immigration rules, including the misuse of residence permits," said Denpasar Immigration Chief Tedy Riyandi as quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, January 11.

He explained that the foreign national from Kazakhstan named Kirill Kuzmyak (KK) had been a swimming instructor six months ago.

Meanwhile, the residence permit in Bali, he said, pocketed a limited residence permit (Kitas) as an investor.

Tedy explained that the KK violated Article 75 of Law Number 6 of 2011 concerning Immigration.

In addition to being deported, the KK was also included in the deterrence list decided by the Directorate General of Immigration by looking at and considering all his cases.

In accordance with Article 102 of Law Number 6 of 2011 concerning Immigration, deterrence can be carried out for a maximum of six months and each time it can be extended for a maximum of six months.

In addition, life imprisonment can also be imposed on foreigners who are considered to be disturbing security and public order.

The KK was then returned to its home country this Thursday at 10:00 WITA via I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport to Denpasar-Kuala Lumpura-Singapore-Mambai-Almathy.

Tedy added that foreigners who misuse their residence permits are detrimental to the Indonesian community and economy.

"We will take firm action against any violations and conduct deportations if necessary," said Tedy.

Tedy added that his party continues to monitor and supervise foreigners living and doing activities in Indonesia, especially Bali.

Meanwhile, based on Immigration data in Bali, namely the Ngurah Rai Immigration Office, Denpasar Immigration and Singaraja Immigration, during 2023 there have been 256 foreigners deported, including due to issues of residence permits, visa violations and legal issues.
