EAST LOMBOK - Mount Rinjani National Park Center (TNGR) East Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara stated that all climbing tourist destinations and several non-hiking tourist destinations in the Rinjani area were temporarily closed.

"The closure will be carried out from January 1 to March 31, 2024," said Head of TNGR West Nusa Tenggara, Dedy Asriady, as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, December 20.

The closed TNGR hiking trails include the Sembalun hiking trail, the Torean hiking trail, the Tete Batu hiking trail, the Aik Berik hiking trail, the Timbanum hiking trail and the Senaru hiking trail.

"Meanwhile, the closed non-hipping tourist destinations are Jeruk Manis Waterfall, Jeruk Manis Village, Sikur District and Mayung Polak Falls, Timbanuh Village, Pringgasela District, East Lombok Regency. And Mangku Sakti Waterfall via Sajang Village, Sembalun District, East Lombok Regency and Sambik Elen Village, Bayan District, North Lombok Regency," he said.

The closure was carried out in accordance with the Letter of the Head of the Center for Volcanology and Geological Hazard Mitigation Number 805.Lap/GL.03/BGV/2023 dated December 17, 2023 regarding the submission of reports on the evaluation of Mount Rinjani's activities at Level II (Alert).

"So that all climbing routes to Mount Rinjani are closed," he said.
