JAKARTA - Minister of Health (Menkes) Budi Gunadi Sadikin called quality health and education two important keys so that Indonesia could become a developed country by 2030.

According to the Minister of Health, health and education are very important so that the Indonesian population can achieve the revenue target of IDR 15 million per month as one of the requirements to become a developed country.

Budi's health sector is considered very important and important compared to education because currently there are still quite a lot of stunting cases in Indonesia. According to his data, stunting prevalence is at 25 percent or around 5 million children per year.

"People won't be smart later if there are still many stunting. Let's say the person is smart but not healthy, has a stroke, can't go to the office, how can it produce? That's why being healthy and smart is important, it must be maintained," said the former Deputy Minister of SOEs.

For this reason, he hopes that whoever is elected president in 2024 can choose the best Minister of Health and Minister of Education. Because Indonesia only has seven years less before entering 2030 with the target of becoming a developed country.

"The next seven years are very important for us to become developed countries. Later we must make sure the Minister of Health and the Minister of Education are correct. If people are not healthy and not smart, by 2030 Indonesia will fail to become a developed country," said the Minister of Health.

As is known, President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) said the government has a target of Indonesia Gold by 100 years of independence or by 2045. At that time, Indonesia's per capita income was expected to be above 13 thousand US dollars per year. Meanwhile, currently Indonesia's revenue is 4,700 US dollars per year or still a country with upper middle income.
