Palestinian Ministry Of Health Says 11 People Killed In Israeli Attacks In West Bank

JAKARTA - At least 11 Palestinians were killed in days of attacks by Israeli soldiers in Jenin in the occupied West Bank, Palestinian health authorities said on Thursday.

A young man died of his injuries on Thursday morning as a result of Israeli operations in the northern city of the West Bank which began earlier this week, the Palestinian health ministry said, while two other Palestinians died overnight.

On the other hand, Israeli forces have searched hundreds of complexes and interrogated hundreds of suspects since the operation began on December 12, the country's military said in a statement. They also dismantled six explosives laboratories, underground tunnels and explosives, he said.

Since the start of the raid on the morning of December 12, Israeli forces have arrested hundreds of residents. Most of them have been released, the Palestinian Prisoners Club said, an advocacy group in a statement.

Meanwhile, the Director of the Palestinian Red Crescent at Jenin Mahmoud Al-Saadi said Israel did not allow ambulances to enter the camp to transport patients.

"We have six ambulances, but we can't even reach patients who need to be transported to the hospital, some of which require dialysis," Al-Saadi said.

"The army did not allow us to enter despite efforts to coordinate with the Red Cross and the United Nations Palestinian aid agency," he said, adding that soldiers were also stationed outside the Jenin Government Hospital.

When asked about the deaths of Palestinians and reports of soldiers stopping ambulances to reach sick people, the Israeli military confirmed the "ongoing counterterrorism activity" in the city, saying further details would be provided after the activity ended.

The Palestinian Ministry of Health previously reported 275 Palestinians killed in the West Bank since the Hamas militant group attack on Israel's southern region on October 7.
