PONOROGO - RSUD dr. Hardjono, Ponorogo, East Java began preparing a special treatment room to anticipate an increase in cases of mental disorders or depression experienced by potential legislative members due to losing in the election market in the 2024 election.

"The point is that we have prepared it. Anticipating if someone experiences depression after the election," said Mental Health Specialist, dr. Andri Nurdiyana Sari was reported by ANTARA, Monday, December 11.

He did not mention specifically the preparations to accommodate depressed patients from among legislative candidates who failed to make their way to the council chair.

However, if you look at the trend of cases at the previous election, both in Ponorogo and other regions, they have made preparations and preparedness.

"In total there are 35 beds that we have prepared for patients who are depressed. Of that number, 20 of them are for patients with severe mental health conditions," he said.

Andri also explained that patients in severe depression are rarely found in legislative candidates.

The reason is that they usually have prepared metal long ago if it's like losing the election. If there is, it is usually included in the category of mild conditions.

"If there are very frequent severe disturbances, almost never even if you look at the previous election. But indeed there are some who have mild depression, usually having trouble sleeping, lack of lust, vomiting after being checked for depression," he said.

He also added that the emergence of symptoms of depression is usually indirect. Usually, there are indications of depression a few months after the incident or event.
