Pretrial Trial, Lawyer Firli Bahuri Says There Is An Unnamed Letter Circulating After Meeting With SYL

The team of lawyers for the inactive Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), Firli Bahuri, said that a letter entitled 'chronology' had circulated. The letter appeared after Firli met Syahrul Yasin Limpo, who at that time was still the Minister of Agriculture at the Badminton Sports Center (GOR), Mangga Besar.

"That later, a clear anonymous letter and identity circulated from the letterwriter, entitled 'chronology'," said one of Firli Bahuri's lawyers during the trial, Monday, December 11.

The contents of the letter are about a series of meetings between Firli Bahuri and Syahrul Yasin Limpo. In writing, the meeting was planned. In fact, it was stated that there was a handover of Rp1 billion.

However, Firli's camp denied the contents of the nameless letter. The series of events in the letter was just a lie.

"The entire content of the letter is untrue and full of slander against the petitioner," he said.

The real facts were explained by Firli's lawyer, Syahrul Yasin Limpo, who came to the Badminto Sports Hall without Firli Bahuri's knowledge. The meeting was also called a short walk.

During the meeting, Firli was said to have asked Syahrul Yasin Limpo to leave several times. However, the former Minister of Agriculture did not immediately heed it.

"The meeting took place briefly, because the applicant only asked witness Syahrul Yasin Limpo to go home immediately. The most obvious slander was about giving money by witness Syahrul Yasin Limpo's aide to the applicant," he said.

Attorney Firli Bahuri, said that the alleged extortion case handled by Polda Metro Jaya was a form of resistance from the former Minister of Agriculture, Syahrul Yasin Limpo. Because, he is afraid that he will be named a suspect by an anti-corruption agency.

The statement was made by Firli Bahuri's lawyer, Ian Iskandar when reading out the pretrial petition at the trial at the South Jakarta District Court.

"That it should be suspected, because of the fear in witness Syahrul Yasin Limpo will soon be named as a suspect by the Indonesian KPK, witness Syahrul Yasin Limpo has taken a number of actions to weaken and hinder the process of determining the suspect against him," said Ian.
