Ganjar Affirms Continue Supporting Infrastructure Around IKN

BALIKPAPAN - Presidential Candidate Ganjar Pranowo is committed to continuing the Nusantara State Capital (IKN) project and the surrounding supporting infrastructure.

This was conveyed by Ganjar during a meeting with Catholic religious leaders at the Santa Maria Cathedral Church, Eternal Helper Samarinda, East Kalimantan, Wednesday, December 6.

"Each official is sworn in under the holy book to implement the law (UU). Well, IKN already has the law, so it must be continued," said Ganjar in front of the priests and Catholics as reported by ANTARA.

According to him, the IKN project must also think about the development of supporting areas around it. For example, road infrastructure, improving education, and health.

"Yes, all of this is in process. It cannot only be calculated for 5 years, but must consistently run it," he said.

In addition, Ganjar is also committed to improving the quality of local human resources (HR). This is so that local human resources can be actively involved in IKN development and for a brighter future.

"Actually, what the romo said was for the community to be involved, meaning that in the readiness of human resources, it must be prepared in order to reach the skills needed there," said Ganjar.

Meanwhile, Secretary of the Archdiocese of Samarinda, Father Welibrodus, said the government must be able to carry out development in a fair and balanced manner.

"We want a balance of development, we as a community so that not only as spectators, we are most positively affected by IKN," said Father Weli.

In addition to human resources, his party also asked Ganjar to be able to build supporting infrastructure in the surrounding area.

"Residents here, if they want to go to IKN, they must cross a bad road. So, infrastructure must be considered, it has made us all happy," he concluded.
