Revitalization Of Borneo FC Headquarters, Samarinda City Government Orders Segiri Stadium To Be Freed Immediately

The revitalization project of the Segiri Stadium in Samarinda, East Kalimantan (Kaltim), will begin in early 2024. The stadium area has been instructed to be vacated.

Head of the Samarinda Muslim Youth, Sports and Tourism Office (Disporapar) said the areas that must be vacated include the shophouses used for business and culinary activities, as well as the stadium mes used as the headquarters of the Borneo FC league 1 team.

"We have given a circular to shophouse tenants to vacate the area for a maximum of December 20, 2023," said Musmin in Samarinda, Wednesday, December 6, which was confiscated by Antara.

Segiri Samarinda Stadium is included in a row of 18 Indonesian League 1 Stadiums which will be renovated by the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing.

The project with the 2024 state budget allocation (APBN) of around Rp. 1.9 trillion includes the installation of single seats and increasing the safety aspect of the Indonesian League 1 Stadium.

The revitalization activity of the Segiri Stadium is estimated to cost Rp74 billion with a target of completion in November 2024.

According to Muslimin, the stadium revitalization process includes repairing roofs, building fences outside the stadium, replacing grass into synthetic grass, repairing toilets, painting buildings, and using single seats or spectator seats in all stadium areas.

"This national project has followed the match standards from FIFA, so that in the future the Segiri Stadium can be used for international matches," he explained.

The national project activity forced Borneo FC to move headquarters to Batakan Balikpapan Stadium to play the League 1 home match in the second round.

"Borneo FC's last home game in Segiri on December 9 at home to PSIS Semarang, after which they will move home to Batakan Stadium," he said.
