8-year-old boy named M Diki Firdaus (8) who disappeared drowned in the Ciliwung River, Ciliwung River Inspection Street, Tongtek Kampung Pulo, Jatinegara District, East Jakarta was finally found dead.

The victim's body was found at the Manggarai floodgate, Menteng District, Central Jakarta by a joint SAR team assisted by Manggarai floodgate officers on Wednesday, November 29.

"We found the victim at the Manggarai floodgate at a radius of 3 KM from the scene," said Head of the Jakarta SAR Office as SAR Mission Coordinator (SMC) during the SAR operation, Fazzli, to reporters, Wednesday, November 29.

The victim's body was found between a pile of garbage stuck at the Manggarai floodgate. Furthermore, the victim's body was evacuated using a body bag.

"We immediately evacuated the victim to the funeral home to hand it over to the family," he said.

Fazzli said the search effort had been carried out by joint SAR elements through water and land routes along the Ciliwung River.

"The search was carried out up to a radius of 7 KM from the scene," he said.

The joint SAR elements deployed consisted of the Jakarta SAR Office, DKI Jakarta BPBD, DKI Jakarta Damkar, Jatinegara Police, Jatinegara Babinsa and others.
