PDIP Secretary General Alludes To Gibran 'Redning Turns Yellow', Golkar: Easy To Join

JAKARTA - The Golkar Party responded to the statement of PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto who alluded to the vice presidential candidate for the Advanced Indonesia Coalition, Gibran Rakabuming Raka changed color from red to yellow after saying goodbye to PDIP DPP Chair Puan Maharani.

Golkar hopes that the Mayor of Solo and the eldest son of President Joko Widodo will soon join the banyan party.

"Hopefully (joining, ed). The Golkar Party is an open party," said Golkar Party DPP chairman Ace Hasan Syadzily to reporters, Saturday, October 28.

Moreover, continued Ace, the Golkar Party has officially promoted Gibran as Prabowo's vice presidential candidate. It was even conveyed directly to Rapimnas II, which is the highest forum for the Golkar Party.

"Especially if Mas Gibran joins the Golkar Party which has been officially promoted by the Golkar Party as a Vice President Candidate in the Golkar Party's Rapimnas II," said Ace.

Previously, the Secretary General of the PDI-P (PDIP) Hasto Kristiyanto ensured that his party respected Gibran Rakabuming's attitude even though he changed color from red to yellow. The change was clearly seen by the public.

"If the color also turns red and then has actually turned yellow, then the party respects that," said Hasto to reporters at the Borobudur Hotel, Jakarta, Friday, October 27.

Hasto did not want to talk much about Gibran's current status at PDIP after registering as a vice presidential candidate (cawapres) Prabowo Subianto.

He only said that everything was in accordance with the statement of the Chairman of the PDIP Honorary Council Komarudin Watubun and the Chairman of the Surakarta City PDIP DPC FX Hadi Rudyatmo.
