Toddler In Kendari Smuggles Methamphetamine Narcotics For His Father In Prison

Methamphetamine narcotics were found smuggled through toddler diapers in Kendari Prison (ANTARA)

KENDARI - The guard officer of the Kendari Class II A Penitentiary (Lapas) thwarted the smuggling of 29.65 grams of methamphetamine by a woman carrying a toddler.

Head of Class II A Prison Kendari Tapianus Antonio Barus, said that the smuggling of suspected methamphetamine was carried out by YY by bringing a toddler who is his son.

He conveyed that the smuggling was first discovered by the Kendari Class IIA female prison officer during an examination of a female visitor.

"Today, the special officers of Kendari Prison women again managed to thwart the smuggling of suspected methamphetamine-type narcotics weighing 29.65 grams," said Tapianus Antonio.

He mentioned that the smuggling mode carried out by YY was by hiding the 29.65 gram methamphetamine in a toddler's diapers who was his own child.

"The (shabu) items were found by our officers, which are stored in toddler diapers or YY children," he said.

Kalapas revealed that the purpose of YY's visit to Kendari Prison was to visit a man with the initials AP alias Aji who is her husband.

"According to our data, the prison database data, she will visit her husband with the initials AP alias Aji," he explained.

Tapianus Antonio also explained that YY's husband was convicted of a similar case, namely shabu-shabu narcotics with a period of 13 years in prison.

"He was convicted of a 13-year criminal narcotics case," he explained.

Currently, continued Tapianus Antonio, AP alias Aji has only been in prison for approximately two years.

He revealed that for further investigation, his party had coordinated with the Narcotics Investigation Unit (Sat Resnarkoba) of the Kendari Police.

"Furthermore, today we immediately handed over the mother with the initials YY to the Kendari Police Narcotics Unit," he said.
