The Southeast Sulawesi High Prosecutor's Office (Kejati) has arrested one suspect on suspicion of a criminal act of nickel mining that operates in one of the areas of North Konawe Regency (Konut).

Assistant for Intelligence (Asintel) of the Southeast Sulawesi Attorney General's Office, Ade Hermawan, said the suspect arrested was the President Director of PT LAM with the initials OS operating in North Konawe Regency, Southeast Sulawesi.

"The suspect OS as Director of PT LAM was arrested by the Investigation Team of the Southeast Sulawesi High Prosecutor's Office today, Wednesday, July 12, 2023 at around 17.00 WIB," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, July 12.

According to him, the President Director of PT LAM is a suspect in the alleged nickel corruption case in one of the areas of North Konawe Regency, Southeast Sulawesi.

In the arrest of the suspect, the Southeast Sulawesi Prosecutor's Investigation Team, assisted by the DKI Jakarta Prosecutor's Office Team and the West Jakarta Kejari at the Lawu Taman Sari Building, West Jakarta.

"The suspect OS was arrested after being absent twice from being summoned by the Southeast Sulawesi High Prosecutor's Investigation Team," he said.

After being arrested, suspect Os was immediately taken to the Attorney General's Roundabout building for examination. The suspect will then be detained at the Salemba Rutan, Attorney General's Branch.

"In the near future it will be taken to the Kendari Rutan for the next investigation process," he said.

In the case of alleged mining corruption in the North Konawe Regency area, the Southeast Sulawesi High Prosecutor's Office has named four suspects, namely General Manager of PT A initials HW, Director of PT KKP initials AA, Executive of PT LAM initials GS, including Director of PT LAM initials OS.
