JAYAPURA - As many as 63 residents of Kroptak District, Nduga Regency, Papua Mountains on foot for four days to evacuate to Kendibam Village, Kenyam District.

Nduga Police Chief AKBPRio Aleksander Penelewan said that of the 63 residents of Kroptak District who fled, there were nine toddlers.

Dozens of refugees arrived in Kenyam, Saturday (1/7) in the morning after being picked up by security forces in Kendibam Village by truck.

Previously, the Head of BPBD Kenyam and religious leaders came to the police to ask for security assistance for people who had fled from Kroptak.

"It has not been confirmed why dozens of residents fled because the most important thing is that we help them arrive in Kenyam," said Rio.

His party suspects that the evacuation of dozens of Kroptak residents may have been due to interference from the Armed Criminal Group (KKB) so that people were afraid and left their villages.

"Meskipun demikian untuk memastikan penyebabnya kami akan meminta keterangan dari warga," katanya.

The police chief said Nduga's condition was relatively conducive. It is ensured that members remain alert and vigilant.

"Members must not be careless because that's when the KKB will carry out its attack," said Rio.
