The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) will soon complete the construction of the West Manggarai Police Command Headquarters (Moko) in order to support the security of the ASEAN Summit in Labuan Bajo, NTT on May 9-11.

"The construction of the police headquarters is carried out in order to support security and safety facilities and improve the quality of buildings at the core location for the holding of the 42nd ASEAN Summit in Labuan Bajo," said Director General of Human Settlements of the Ministry of PUPR Diana Kusumastuti as reported by ANTARA, Monday, May 8.

Diana explained that the construction work of the West Manggarai Police Headquarters has been carried out since February 2023 and is expected to be completed on time and on quality.

The work was carried out by PT Brantas Abipraya (Persero) as the implementing contractor and PT Yodya Karya as the construction management.

With the scope of activities, it includes the construction of the Mako Polres Air Police Unit, Security Unit for Vital Objects, and Narcotics and Hazardous Drugs Units and Landscape Arrangement.

Previously, PUPR Minister Basuki Hadimuljono during his working visit to review the infrastructure readiness of ASEAN Summit supporters, appealed to contractors to pay attention to fragility when completing work at the West Manggarai Police Headquarters.

Basuki also said that all facilities and infrastructure to support the implementation of the ASEAN Summit are in a ready condition.

The Ministry of PUPR conducts infrastructure work and supporting facilities for the ASEAN Summit in Labuan Bajo and Tana Mori.

The work is carried out by the Ministry of PUPR through the NTT Regional Settlement Infrastructure Center (BPPW) of the Directorate General of Human Settlements and the NTT National Road Implementation Center (BPJN) of the Directorate General of Highways.
